DESCRIPTION:In case you have trouble reading the graphic on your phone\, here’s the scoop. \nAt the Tuesday\, October 20th Bozeman City Commission meeting\, the commissioners will be asked to approve a purchase agreement with Axon Enterprise for the purchase of body cameras\, patrol car cameras\, conducted energy devices (aka tasers*)\, and associated digital evidence management. Axon Enterprise is reported to have ties to ICE and there is a valid concern that the information collected on the purchased equipment could be transmitted to ICE or other federal agencies. This information could be used against our immigrant neighbors. \nQuestions that need to be asked before the commissioners consider whether or not to approve the agreement – \n\nCould the data collected on the cameras and digital evidence management system be shared with other federal agencies?\nDoes the agreement allow facial recognition or connections to other surveillance systems?\nWhat enforceable protections would prevent misuse?\n\nIf the answers to these questions aren’t sufficient to protect our immigrant neighbors\, this purchase agreement should be strongly opposed. \nPlease refer to this pdf for information about the options to take action to oppose the agreement with Axon Enterprise. \nThe meeting will start at 6pm at the Bozeman City Hall\, 121 N.
