Course Overview

The USCCA Basic Handgun 1.5 Course is a range-focused follow-up designed to build on the fundamentals introduced in the Basic Handgun 1.0 class. This session is all about hands-on practice in a safe, supportive environment, giving students the opportunity to refine their skills and grow their confidence on the range. Participants will review and continue developing core shooting fundamentals, including proper grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control. With instructor guidance and structured drills, this course helps reinforce good habits, improve consistency, and deepen overall firearm proficiency. Whether you’re looking for more repetition, additional coaching, or just time on the range to solidify your skills, Handgun 1.5 is a great next step in your training journey.

Class Details

Registration Requirements: None, this class is open to club members and non-members.

Class Prerequisite: Basic Handgun 1.0 or Basic Pistol

Class Requirements:

• State land requires a conservation license. A conservation license can be purchased on the FWP website for $8.00.
• Students are encouraged to provide their firearms. If they do not own one, the club may be able to provide a loaner for the class.

Range Class Requirements:

• Firearm
• Range bag
• 2 Mags
• Magazine carriers/pouches – if you have them. No holsters, please.
• 300 rounds of ammo per person
• Speed loader
• Ear protection
• Eye protection (sunglasses are okay)
• Water Bottle + Snack
• Chair

Class Location: Class location will be provided upon registration confirmation.

Class Fee: $30.00

• Class fees help cover classroom and course materials.
• Class payment is due at booking via credit card.
• Cancellations & Refunds: If you need to cancel your registration, please email us at admin@gallatincommunitygunclub.org. Refunds are available with at least 48 hours’ notice prior to the scheduled class or event. Cancellations made within 48 hours are non-refundable.
