Our protest activity is lawful and safe. The police know we will be protesting. We use the buddy system. We stay on the sidewalk.  We do not block the sidewalk.  We obey traffic rules.  We do not go on private property.  We do not do any violence or graffiti.  We remain aware of our surroundings and talk about what we see.  If someone approaches us to explain why we are stupid and wrong, we take one step away, turn partway toward them, and let them talk.  We do not respond, or if we feel compelled to respond, we say something neutral like “Have a nice day.”  Remain excessively cheerful.
